Over at “The Cosmopolitan Globalist,” I opined that If I were Supreme Warlord of the IDF, I’d do exactly what Israel in fact did: pick a specific military target and hit it hard. Kill people and break things, yes, but exercise a certain amount of restraint. My reasoning was that the Iranian attack on Israel was so ineffectual that a finely calibrated retaliation would be sufficient unto the day.

The Iranian regime is now on notice that Israel can strike its assets any time and anywhere—in sharp contrast to Iran’s inept fireworks display. And this, I believe has restored deterrence. It’s not the ideal solution, but it threads the needle.

That is all good if this is not just a "one off". The time for "sending messages" needs to end regarding Iran. The West has missed several opportunities over the years to overthrow the Islamic Republic because the progressive left can't seem to do that to anti-Western regimes.

Israel (I would argue the entire West) is at war with the Islamic Republic and they need to be put on notice that we are ending their rule over Iran.

It just sucks. The US is playing both sides of the fence.

I'm very upset about the hostages. It should be brutally clear that Biden doesn't/didn't give a sht about them and that most are dead. If they're alive they'll be killed. Hamas will never give up the women, knowing how they'll talk about their abuse.

I won't blame you if you remove this comment. I'm disgusted & probably saying things I should not.

At the end of the day, the US is restraining Israel on all military fronts - Gaza, Lebanon & Iran.

Bibi should have named Antony Blnken as his national security advisor.
