I think dropping the aid would send a message to the American people and to the world that it is time for the allies to step up. It is more symbolic than anything.
As far as giving money to other mideastern countries, happy to have all of it cancelled, but if Israel initiated the cut on its own then the message sent to the region would be one of confidence.
