If an employee of an international, humanitarian, or any other organization comes into contact with terrorists, this means that he accepts responsibility for his actions.
The organization's employees were together with the terrorists. They traveled with them in the same transport. They were performing some task together with terrorists.
What do you think can be said about this situation? Either they were human shields (perhaps deliberately), or they had the same goals.
The same can be said about the Red Cross employees who, together with the terrorists, carried out the task of handing over the hostages. They worked together with terrorists. But when it was necessary to transfer medicine to Israeli hostages, they did not do it.
Question. Who do international organizations work for?
Therefore, holding Israel responsible is unfair and immoral.
"Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder dodged a question Thursday about why no one in the U.S. was held accountable for a mistaken 2021 drone strike, while demanding Israel punish officials for a similar incident.
"As Breitbart News reported at the time, the Biden administration claimed that a drone strike on a target in Kabul was a “righteous” strike on a terrorist in the wake of the attack on the international airport that killed 13 U.S. personnel.
"Later, the U.S. admitted that the drone attack had targeted an innocent aid worker, who died along with two adults and seven children from his family. No one was ever fired, or reprimanded, for the mistake or the false explanation.
"Yet in recent days, President Joe Biden and White House officials have demanded that Israel hold officials accountable for a mistaken drone strike on World Central Kitchen aid workers who were mistaken for terrorists."
ON AUGUST 29 2021 IN AFGHANISTAN, the USA MISTAKENLY KILLED HUMANITARIAN AID worker ZEMARI AHMADI AND HIS FAMILY members : 10 INNOCENT CIVILIANS were killed among which 7 CHILDREN. The USA military organization has NOT taken any steps against the personnel involved in the bombing.
Especially Biden - He's the president of the United States, for COL!!
I can't prove this but I believe that if Biden had said on October 8 to Qatar, "Get your Hamas buddies to release the hostages YESTERDAY or you'll lose your balls," it would have been done.
Then the US should have smashed Hamas into a million pieces, with Qatar not far behind.
We could have done it.
Financially and covertly.
We left Israel to deal with this unprecedented tragedy alone only to jerk their chain later. Maybe that was the intention all along.
While I feel that Biden was truly supportive those first days - for Blinken, the plan all along was to take advantage of the crisis and to screw Israel.
Why are the same people responsible for October 7 still in office and how can they allow themselves to fire the IDF officers responsible for firing the rockets at the wrong people in a war zone? what kind of example is this?
It’s how a democratically elected government operates. Under the Parliamentary system that Israel follows, the government is in power for a statutorily set period of time unless it loses a vote of no confidence or voluntarily calls for early elections. It is similar to the UK system in that regard. In the American system, the President finishes his term unless impeached and convicted.
So you ask why Prime Minister Netanyahu remains in office after 10/7 - it’s for the same reason that FDR remained after Pearl Harbor and George W. Bush remained after 9/11. The opposition was not strong enough to force any of them out and the Chief Executives did not resign voluntarily.
I was responding to Barry Lyss’ comment. And I agree with your question of why the Israeli government is doing such a poor job responding to the scapegoating. I guess that first of all, there’s a deep feeling over there that Israel does not need to explain itself to a world that will never accept its answers, making the whole thing a fool’s errand and a distraction. It’s a tone deaf response as PR is an integral part of Hamas’ war plan and Israel is making a mistake by ceding that field to its enemy. Second, while Netanyahu has reportedly bemoaned the lack of Israelis fluent in English to put Israel’s case to the wider public, he turns around and fires one of the most effective voices, Eylon Levy who was only guilty (in my view) of calling out Lord Cameron self-serving and factually incorrect tweets regarding the war on Hamas. That Israeli government chose not to back up Levy when he was clearly in the right, suggests one of two things (maybe both), that this was a personal grudge against Levy or that there is some agreement to allow Israel’s allies who are concerned with their restive Muslim minorities to publicly bad mouth Israel while they silently support it. It’s hard to say, but either way it doesn’t help Israel in the court of public opinion.
On a separate note, if you are right about Hamas operatives running shotgun on the aid vehicles, then what happened to their bodies? The only thing we hear about is the seven dead WCK workers, and from the looks of the damage, it is fairly clear that no one could have survived. Is Israel suggesting a cover up of some kind? And if so, it needs to release the supporting drone footage. I had read that the armed man was in fact one of the aid workers who was carrying something that was misunderstood as a weapon. If you are right in what you report, can it be that Israel is waiting for vindication from the independent investigation which will, much like the ICJ, issue its final decision at some unknown future date when it won’t matter? It’s both perplexing and frustrating.
But i think that a real plan for "the day after" that is in Israel's interests ought to have been offered months ago. I wrote on this at the start of the war and I still think it makes sense - although stating it now may be too late.
I wrote this on Nov 2: https://iraslomowitz.substack.com/p/gaza-after-the-war?r=2xynd - Presenting it then would, at a minimum, have hit the ball into the other side of the court- at a maximum, it would have been taken seriously and neutralized the absurd Biden-Blinken plan

PENTAGON DODGES QUESTION ABOUT WHY NO ONE FIRED FOR AFGHANISTAN DRONE STRIKE

IT'S TIME TO STOP POINTING FINGERS AT ISRAËL.
The UN is biased.

Highly selective morality is used as a political weapon, and hence is not really morality at all.
Very Solid, Ira.

A disgrace.
While I feel that Biden was truly supportive those first days - for Blinken, the plan all along was to take advantage of the crisis and to screw Israel.
Fair enough, but I think that the intent to screw Israel was with Obama and Biden all along. I prefer the word intent to plan. JMO.

Not a good example. That is for sure.
Those responsible for what happened on October 7 are in Qatar and deep underground in the Gaza Strip.
Why are they still in power, ask those who are trying to tie the hands of the IDF and prevent the defeat of Hamas.

As you know ... determining facts from "narrative" is difficult.
But ... If the officers thought the man was armed then that is what counts.
Also - the pick ups were certainly Hamas vehicles. What happened to their bodies? It is not important to the narrative, so no one asks or cares.
As for PR - i agree 100% - Israel cannot win the PR war. However, it can respond honestly but aggressively instead of defensively.
Interesting.
You are right about the security border.
