And he is correct. If there are one people in the world who deserve a state but will never get one it is the Kurds. Kurdistan spans four countries - Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria.

My understanding is that at some point (I don't know when) Hezbollah in Syria scooted back to Lebanon. Plus their supply lines were all screwed up. This directly led to HTS's successes, which were as much a surprise to them as it was to anyone.
