You hated the Shi'a Iranian "Ring of Fire" and you fear this new Sunni coalition.
(I personally don't think that even the idiots who run US foreign policy take Jolani the Democrat seriously. He's just what's there and he must be dealt with.)
Did you expect anything better?
There's a cold peace with Egypt but they don't accept you as a legitimate part of the Middle East.
Do you actually want that? The Middle East is and always has been a horrible place full of fanatics. The only time it has ever had peace is when it's ruled by an empire. Then the empire falls and the crazies take over.
While Israel had no direct part in the fall of the House of Assad, even if the known result of the degrading of Hezbollah would have been just that, it would have been a good move. The "devil you know" is not always better than the unknown. And in this case, the end (temporary or not) of Syria as a conduit to the resupply of Hezbollah is a win, no matter what.
I think the idiot State people do take Julani seriously just as they take all jihadi dictators seriously - anything to continue their moronic diplomacy.
This post was not a 'whine' about the horrors of the middle east, but rather a description of what is and a prescription of what ought to be.
Israel is where it is - can't move it. Don't want to.
Well, what did you expect?

It is what it is.
Not sure what you mean by "what did you expect"?

"Not sure what you mean by "what did you expect"?"
To happen in Syria. It's an unstable mess of inherently hostile sects.
