Few people think about it, but the largest and longest-existing colonial power, to which no one makes claims, is Russia. In fact, this is a country half the size of Ukraine, which has captured territories many times larger than the metropolis and has been holding indigenous peoples as colonies for centuries. Siberia, the Caucasus, Karelia, the Far East, the Volga region - these are all lands captured 300-400 years ago, the indigenous population of which was subjected to oppression, extermination, assimilation and total propaganda. Today, Russia is one of the sources of neocolonialism, claiming influence in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. US and UK colonialism has not existed for many decades, but progressive idiots fight it by inventing it and inventing "Israeli colonialism" (what the hell!), but they do not see the real existing and strengthening colonialism, although it has come so close to them that they can smell its foul breath.
The Left used to vigorously oppose American cultural exports as "coca-colonization" but changed their tune when it became foreign policy to export LGBTQ ideology.
80 generations of Jews reestablished in 1948 the Zionist pluralist indigenous contract with the land & nation of Israel, in fact, is the least colonialist state in the region as it has been opposed most of the time by the main colonial countries. Herzl and Zionism started before WWI and his vision was marred only by his failure to get any support from colonialist powers – not the Ottomans, the British or the German
I added 18🙄 words at the beginning to make a concise truth bomb to screenshot for Google lens to copy and paste and to slap in the comments forevermore for it is elemental foundational rebuttal solid gold truth.
Run on sentences are a colonialist construct therefore thus to be overturned as worthy of being judged negatively or wrong but should be seen contextually through the lens of the indigenous Jew, after all the Torah did not have punctuation, the people of the book May redefine sentence structure from time to time without Western imposed foreign colonial list punctuation coming to mind.
In fact we may take it upon ourselves in the future or retroactively translate and to type English left to right in reverse to echo the disunity between the mizrahi and Ashkenazi worlds or the kosher and the traif, the secular and The godly, the Nations and the nation of Israel as a construct 😭😂😜😅
his words need to be understood in light of his actions.
By "realist" i don't mean Hans Morganthau, Mearsheimer realism - i mean that he sees things as they are. Trump sees reality clearly.
That is why he can propose the Gaza plan that he did. Look at his solutions - they are not pie in the sky, they take the situation as it is and tries to fix it.
While I agree with his Gaza plan and disagree with his Ukraine plan - i still think both are based on the reality of the situation. Seeing that the murderous gang that is the Gazan population will never live peacefully next to Israel is a reality all other plans ignore.
As for Ukraine - I don’t agree that it is the right thing to do but considering the American people won’t tolerate a war with Russia over the Donbas, Russia’s keeping territory conquered is rather realistic.
His Gaza plan is fantasy. No other nation will accept millions of Palestinians and neither Israel nor the US has the political ability to either force the Palestinians to leave or other nations to accept them. A realistic plan is for the deradicalization of Palestinian society supported by Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.
The option to a US imposed surrender of Ukraine (which is the real world implication of Trump’s concessions) is not a US - Russia war over the Donbas.
Most Gazans are not refugees but people who were born in Gaza, whose parents were likely born in Gaza. There grandparents or great grandparents may have been refugees who were resettled in Gaza. Realism is not a function of what “ought” to happen but what is politically (physically, militarily,…) feasible.
“Rebuilding Gaza” is a central element of his “plan.”
Ira dissected decoded & dismissed the colonialist paradigm narrative brilliantly
This is true, oh so true:
"The global left hates colonialism, ... but when it comes to the middle east clings desperately to the system violently created by the colonialists."

An excellent and insightful read!!

Realist par excellence??
Donald Trump??
The guy who said he could resolve the Russia - Ukraine war in a day?
The guy who said he was going to remove all Arabs from Gaza and have the US take it over?
That Donald Trump?
his words need to be understood in light of his actions.
By "realist" i don't mean Hans Morganthau, Mearsheimer realism - i mean that he sees things as they are. Trump sees reality clearly.

I’m sorry but the man is either delusional or disingenuous, anything but realistic.
Which of his actions demonstrates an appreciation for the way things are?
His “plan” for Gaza differs from previous unworkable plans by being less well thought out and completely unrealistic.
His “plan” for Ukraine is not a realistic plan for peace but for his own aggrandizement.
While I agree with his Gaza plan and disagree with his Ukraine plan - i still think both are based on the reality of the situation. Seeing that the murderous gang that is the Gazan population will never live peacefully next to Israel is a reality all other plans ignore.

i don’t agree that it is fantasy - Most Gazan residents are not Gazans but refugees. They ought to be resettled.
But in any event - he recognizes that the problem is not “rebuilding Gaza” as the Arab League and the global left think.
Most Gazans are not refugees but people who were born in Gaza, whose parents were likely born in Gaza. There grandparents or great grandparents may have been refugees who were resettled in Gaza. It is a fantasy to move people who do not wish to move, no nation is willing to accept them, and there is no political will to move them forcibly.
